I fixed it by placing the ini_set line in the admin.php file right after the requires. This allow utstatsdb to
write sessions to my drupal "files" folder that is writable.
I tried the session save and it didn't work for me. I wrote to my host and they are suggesting this:
The problem with the save handler is we have our set to use "user" which is the default for Drupal. Inside utstats99 you will need to find an appropriate place to add the line:
Not sure I understand what that means. could it be a port or permission problem that my host can fix or does it sound like something I have wrong?
I asked my host here: "1) UTSTATSDB uses SQLport 3306 by default. Can you open this port or give me the correct port number to use in the configuration ...
With UTstatsDB 3.06, Getting this fatal error on initial installation .../admin.php
Fatal error: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: ) in /mysite/utstats99/admin.php on line 63
Looks like our server host has to fix some permissions for us. I tested it on another UT99 server and the logs parse ok.
One other thing... When parsing from admin, I used to see status as the logs parse...like "10 of 58" parsed, then say "21 of 58" and so on. Now I just get a still ...
Ok hopefully I'm getting close. The cron works now...thank to Panther.
However, I am now getting these warnings:
Downloading log 'Unreal.ngLog.2008.06.28.13.30.31.7777.log'....successful Warning: ftp_delete() [function.ftp-delete]: Closing data connection. in /home/mydomain/public_html/logs.php on ...
I've tried running it via cron and that doesn't work either. I have never had any prob running from admin. It's usually a configuration problem but I can't figure this one out.
Could this be it...
Our UT99 gameserver doesn't appear to be set up in the root ...
In the past I have had 3.01 running on UT99, UT2003, & UT2k4 with no problems. Recently I just set up UT99 on v3.02 and cannot get the parsing to work right. The browser hangs when I parse. I have to close the browser and when I try and parse again, I get the message "Log parser currently locked ...
I can ftp the server where the logs are with no problem. The logs are at:
/UTGame/Logs/
EDIT: I am using utstatsdb v3.02 for UT3.
BTW, I do have v3.01 working for several UT99 & UT2k4 servers. I'm not
entirely new to this system but can't figure out why UT3 is not parsing.
Any suggestions for me Panther. Still can't get the parse logs to work. Here is what I get when I parse:
Initializing ftp file transfer. Connected to 'my ip address' on port '21' for user 'storm'. Enabling passive mode. Successfully changed ftp directory to '/UTGame/Logs'. No new logs to download ...
I tried the meta entries above but still the same. I have to clear my browser cache and reload the page to see updated stats. I haven't tried the javascript function yet. Where do I put that code?
I have used utstatsdb with Ut99, 2k3, & 2k4. I know that 2k3 didn't log local stats and users need a mod for this.
Hopefully, such a fix will come along for UT3.
