Players points being reset (+issues with chatlog)

Hi, I have two questions (which I'm not sure whether are releated).

First of all, a few players asked my why their stats kept being reset. When checking the particular players I located a few matches where they had no activity, which resulated in their points dropping to 0.
NB! I discovered that Idle kick unfortunately was set to 0 for a while on this particular server. With an idle kick, maybe the problem would have been resolved. Regardless, there still might be some utstats settings making sure I can avoid this problem later. The examples below are taken from a TDM server:

Example match #1 (PlayerXXX has a Player color, meaning he was probably idle/not spec'ing. Due to Idle kick being on 0 at the moment, he stayed online all game)

Player summary:
7 PlayerXXX 0 0 0 0 0 0.0% 0.0 1320.0 22 (player online for 22 minutes, without any kills/deaths)
Player Rank Points:
PlayerXXX 52.59 -52.59 0.00 (player starts with 52.59 points, points are removed, has no points on match end)

Example match #2 (PlayerXXX has a cross/no player color, meaning he was probably spec'ing?)

Player summary:
14 PlayerXXX 0 0 0 0 0 0.0% 0.0 1320.0 22.0 (player online for 22 minutes, without any kills/deaths)
Player Rank Points:
PlayerXXX 106.62 -106.62 0.00 (player starts with 106.62 points, points are removed, has no points on match end)

I can see why points would drop when he's in the game, and there's no idle kick.. .but I would assume he should not be droppping points when he's spec'ing ? As stated above, in one of the matches PlayerXXX dropped points he was not assigned any team color.

I've looked at the "Min. CH Time" & "Min. Rank Time" settings, which I assume is per match? Settings these higher than idle time kick might solve the problem ? Anyway, very interested in input from you guys in this matter.



The second problem is after installing ServerExt.Chatlog (which just adds the chatlines along with the PlayerID to /Userlogs) is that several chat lines appear without any PlayerNick in utstats, and sometimes the wrong Playernick is displayed. At the same time some players nicks are displayed fine along with the chatlines. Any ideas what could be causing this ? After a brief chat with elmuerte it does not appear to be anything wrong with ServerExt.

Box was installed in july 2008, and all the latest versions of required software was downloaded&installed at the same time.

Players that show up in the match stats but do not have a graph color assigned are not spectators. The graph only shows the top eight players, otherwise it would tend to get a bit difficult to follow. This is a practice that came straight from ngStats, on which I originally based UTStatsDB.

While losing points by doing nothing during a tournament deathmatch seems perfectly valid, losing 106 points does seem a bit excessive. Please send some logs - I will need at least some where the player gained points and then one where they lost them all while idle.

Hi Panther,

if you need me to send over some actual logfiles I need to enable backup of the files. I've currently crontabbed every hours to parse in logfiles older than 100 minutes.

Take a look at the player [SwèédS]P-A, in the following matches:

In the second match above he gets -170.29 :S

I browsed around a few other UTstats sites aswell, and in this CTF match on jolt there's an example of pretty much the same thing, if you look at the player Destination_Unknown:

-Online for 31 min, no frags/kills/deaths, and drops all his 66 points.

PS: If you have any comments regarding the Chatlog displaying blank for wrong nicks that'd be great too.

Hi, thought I replied you here earlier, but obviously I didn't. Anyway, I activated backup of the logfiles in utstats about 1 week ago, and I'll keep an eye out for similar behaviour and pm you the logfile(s).

Having that said, is there any way I can manually delete certain players, or logfiles/matches, to fix the rankings?
I.e. the guy ranked first place on CTF got +1223.44 in a single match, where he had 0 kills / 0 deaths, and was connected for 0.1 minutes:

Player Rank Points:
chronic)gOd( 0.00 +1223.44 1223.44

Connection Log:
49.3 chronic)gOd( Blue Team
49.4 chronic)gOd( Disconnected

Unfortunately these logs are long gone, so hopefully some of the new logs can explain what's going on. Regardless, something is obviously very wrong here. If there's any chance to manually correct/wipe the worst cases (like this one) that'd be great. Unless I can he's going to stay #1 forever, or I need to clear all stats :S

You can manually edit the database, that's about besides wiping the stats.
