UT3 Stat Logger

Postby Panther » Tue Sep 16, 2008 12:07 pm

I've released a new version of the UT3 stat logger mutator which is now in the downloads section. This should correct at least some of the previously reported issues such as the runaway scores. Please report issues here.

I just replaced the existing file due to a required package being left out. The version did not change. If you already downloaded version 0.91 before now then re-download for the fixed version.

I've uploaded version 0.92 which should fix a number of issues that occurred when games went into overtime.

This is for dedicated servers only, am I correct?

You could probably run it somehow on a non-dedicated server, but I'm afraid I couldn't help you with that. Currently it only works under Windows due to bugs in the Linux release of UT3.

Thanks, Panther for the continued work on this. You wouldn't happen to have any new information on whether UTStatsDB can run when the final 1.3 patch for the Linux DS is out?

Somehow I dobut it will - they are most likely just going to fix the frequent crashing and the exploits with the next 1.3 patch release. Jeff Morris said they'll "look into it for a future release", which doesn't sound terribly promising. There's obviously not much priority being put on the Linux versions otherwise we wouldn't have been left so long without a usable Linux server. We can't run them due to the actively exploited vulnerabilities, and we can't even run version 1.3 without it crashing even faster. I had to take down my (Linux) UT3 servers. My friends and I have gone back to playing UT '99, which is why I decided to make the chat logging for it. Maybe I'll reinstall UT2004 as well since it had the greatest map selection. Meanwhile I'll still work on supporting UT3 for UTStatsDB.

Whenever I start a game using the command line and make changes to the server using the in-game console, everything works great. BUT, whenever i make changes using the utwebadmin, the logfiles for all games played after the change was made are only 1kb in size. Any way to fix this problem?

Exactly 1KB? What's in the files?

What i had to do to get this logfile:

1st. I started my dedicated server from the command line, as I always do.
2nd. Played through 5 mins of a game.
3rd. Change the map using the Webadmin
4th. Parse logs from the utstatsdb (rev 33) admin panel-the game is shown as incomplete.

Odd - there's no info at all after the NewGame / ServerInfo tags. No StartGame or player connects. I'd like to see one of your logs that parsed successfully.

Panther dude, seriously, you rock. I LOVE the original utstatsdb and have used it for years. I very much look forward to using this. I'm setting it up as we speak. Thanks again for all your hard work. Keep it up!

Thanks! I'm glad I'm able to actually do more with it now that I can generate logs in Linux. Unfortunately I've come across a couple of issues with the Linux version so far. One is the permissions - they aren't based on the directory they are saved to. At least this can be overcome with using the web-based stat uploading (or if your web server and UT server run under the same permissions it's not a problem either). Another issue is with the date/time - it's not logged correctly in the Linux version, but I'm sure I can fix that.

I think im having a problem. The mutator has been added to my server, but im kinda at a loss as to what to do next. Do you have some kind of documentation on what exactly to do to get the logfiles, or can someone give me some advice?

Thanks.

I guess adding just a tiny bit of documentation by the time I release version 1.0 wouldn't be such a bad idea!
